Tributes have been paid to a beloved teacher and volunteer who has died after decades of serving the people of Andover. Marion Spaul passed away on January 11 at Andover Nursing Home, following decades of work as a teacher at Winton School and as a volunteer at the Countess of Brecknock Hospice. Her family said they would remember her “infectious good humour, quick wit and effervescent personality”. Captain Sir Tom Moore came to the attention of the nation when he began walking lengths of his garden for NHS Charities Together, with the aim of raising £1,000 for his 100th birthday, April 30. ....

This year, despite Covid restrictions, their show managed to raise £1,250 to donate to the foodbank after viewers from around the world watched it online. Andover Foodbank thanked the group for their “incredible” donation and said that they were “very grateful” for the CADS’ help. CADS was formed in 2000, putting on annual performances in March for villagers. Since 2004, they have also held ‘Christmas in Clatford’, and have raised £16,000 for a variety of good causes, including the Countess of Brecknock Hospice and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. ....
