Two on murder charge to reappear on May 31

Two men charged with murder were remanded to HMP Dodds when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes as the District ‘A’ Criminal Court on Monday. Jeremiah Sellasie Bartlett, 19, of Block 3 A Fernihurst and 21-year-old Ashari Zidane Agard of 5D Neptune Road, Deacons Farm, both in St Michael, were charged with the murder of Shaquan Robert Joseph. Thirty-one-year-old Crystal Boyce, her four children and father were among 15 people left without shelter after fire ripped through three houses this morning.
The blaze, which started just after 10 a.m., destroyed two houses and severely damaged another two-storey home in President Kennedy Drive, St Michael. Residents in all three homes are related and only the two-storey building, home to seven people, was insured.
Boyce said she was cooking when she realised that a section of the house was on fire. She raced to pull her four-year-old son from the bedroom and sounded the alarm. Nothing was saved but she was glad they escaped with their lives. ....

Fire fighters and residents fought to stop a fire from spreading after it destroyed one house at President Kennedy Drive, St Michael earlier today.
Reports were that two tenders had responded and neighbours rushed to save their households contents.
