This month, June 2021, Roy Morgan Business Confidence is down 1pt (-0.8%) to 128.3. Despite the fall Business Confidence is a massive 33.3pts (+35.1%) higher than a year ago in June 2020 (95.0). The Business Confidence result for June is based on interviewing conducted before the Sydney-wide lockdown and the latest restrictions introduced in several States announced over the weekend.
Business Confidence in June 2021 was 14.4pts above the long-term average of 113.9 with nearly two-thirds of businesses, 64.8%, expecting ‘good times’ for the Australian economy over the next 12 months and a clear majority of 58.4% saying the next 12 months is a ‘good time to invest in growing the business’. ....

In April 2021 Roy Morgan Business Confidence increased 1.3pts (+1.0%) to 125.3. This is the highest level of Business Confidence in Australia for over seven years since January 2014 (131.5). Business Confidence has increased a massive 48.4pts (+62.9%) on its level of a year ago in April 2020 (76.9).
Business Confidence is now 11.6pts above the long-term average of 113.7 and nearly two-thirds, 65%, expect ‘good times’ for the Australian economy over the next 12 months and an increasing majority of 59.5% of businesses said the next 12 months is a ‘good time to invest in growing the business’. ....

Latest Roy Morgan employment series data shows 1.93 million Australians unemployed in February (up 250,000 on January) but under-employment was down 300,000 to 1.14 million.
Over 12.7 million Australians were employed in February – the highest since early March:
12,703,000 Australians were employed, up 28,000 from January driven by an increase in full-time employment, up 125,000 to 8,322,000. Part-time employment was down 97,000 to 4,381,000.
Unemployment increased in February as Australians began looking for work:
1,930,000 Australians were unemployed (

In February 2021 Roy Morgan Business Confidence increased 0.3pts (+0.2%) to 120.8. Business Confidence has now averaged 121.5 over the last three months, its highest three-month average since January – March 2014 (123.1). Business Confidence is now 7.3pts above the long-term average of 113.5.
The good news is that an increasing majority of 55.5% of businesses said the next 12 months is a ‘good time to invest in growing the business’ and even more, 60.6%, expect ‘good times’ for the Australian e ....
