Council acts on block grants, raze orders and more Boscobel Common Council BOSCOBELS new logo will soon be going up on four new entrance signs to the city, as well as 12 directional signs pointing motorists to important Boscobel destinations. The citys new brand: Boscobel: Wisconsins Outdoor Recreation Destination was a collaborative effort between the Boscobel Developers, Chamber of Commerce and city leaders. BOSCOBEL - The Boscobel Common Council moved forward with a $643,000 infrastructure project when it approved matching funds for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program during Monday night’s meeting. The city’s share would be $321,000, with the project scheduled for 2022. ....
Louanne Eng 1935 - 2021 Louanne Madonne Eng, 85, of Blue River, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Schmitt Woodland Hills. Virginia Bethke Virginia Ann (Studnicka) Bethke, 89, Spring Green, died at home surrounded by her family on March 12, 2021 after a brief illness from cancer. Due to COVID-19, funeral services are by invitation ONLY. Anyway, that’s just what the Crawford County Independent & Kickapoo Scout received last Friday night courtesy of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association. The WNA held a virtual awards ceremony to honor those who won awards in the Better Newspaper Contest. And, the Independent-Scout was right in the thick of it–winning nine awards for small weekly newspapers (in Division F), including three first-place awards. ....
