UW Vaccination Efforts Bear Fruit; Summer's Final Walk-In Clinic Thursday | News

University of Wyoming faculty, staff and students have played a key role in helping UW and the broader Albany County community achieve one of the highest levels of vaccination for COVID-19 in the state.
Led by College of Health Sciences Dean David Jones and School of Pharmacy Dean Kem Krueger, UW’s dozens of employees and volunteers have joined colleagues with Albany County Public Health, Ivinson Memorial Hospital and local pharmacies to administer thousands of doses of the vaccines in the county since late December.
The Albany County COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic team will hold its final walk-in clinic of the summer term Thursday, June 10, from 2-4 p.m. at the former National Guard Armory located at 2901 E. Armory Road, at the corner of 30th Street and East Armory Road. UW Lifts Requirements for Masks, Distancing | News | University of Wyoming

Requirements for social distancing and the wearing of masks at the University of Wyoming have been lifted, following action by the Wyoming Department of Health.
Effective today, the university is only recommending masks and distancing for those who have not been vaccinated for COVID-19, continuing UW’s transition to a traditional fall 2021 semester.
UW’s Board of Trustees voted earlier this month to follow state Department of Health orders, which required masks in educational settings indoors only when social distancing couldn’t be maintained. The agency removed that requirement for higher education institutions Friday.
The Board of Trustees’ and Department of Health’s actions followed new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that people who are fully vaccinated can go without masks or physical distancing in most cases, even when they are indoors or in large groups. ....

COVID Vaccinations Increase in UW Community | News | University of Wyoming

As COVID-19 vaccines continue to roll out among members of the University of Wyoming community, employees and students are reminded to report their vaccinations to allow the university to track overall numbers.
And those who’ve not yet been vaccinated are strongly encouraged to do so, as multiple options are available to receive the vaccine in Albany County, across Wyoming and around the nation.
As of Monday, 1,653 of UW’s 2,941 benefited employees 56.2 percent had reported receiving at least one dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, with 50 reporting having received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. All of the vaccines have been shown to be safe and highly effective. There have been no reports of serious side-effects among those vaccinated at t ....
