2,500 people there. the precautions they took are pretty good precautions but i think what jonathan karl s case and there s going to be a lot of others will teach us, is that what you do after the event is also important. so testing before, proof of vaccination before, important. testing after, because now, you know, he has the opportunity to not continue to spread the virus to other people. there s clearly going to be other people who will have tested positive in that room, but in terms of actually looking at the pandemic going forward, testing afterward really important. john, i will just say everyone wants to have events like this again, but thinking about ventilation in a room like that, trying to make the inside environment as close to the outside environment as possible, that s going to be key. that s going to be something we will be talking about for years if not decades to come in terms of living with these viruses. sanjay, what do we know about new variants of comicron? firs

UW Lifts Requirements for Masks, Distancing | News | University of Wyoming

May 24, 2021 Requirements for social distancing and the wearing of masks at the University of Wyoming have been lifted, following action by the Wyoming Department of Health. Effective today, the university is only recommending masks and distancing for those who have not been vaccinated for COVID-19, continuing UW’s transition to a traditional fall 2021 semester. UW’s Board of Trustees voted earlier this month to follow state Department of Health orders, which required masks in educational settings indoors only when social distancing couldn’t be maintained. The agency removed that requirement for higher education institutions Friday. The Board of Trustees’ and Department of Health’s actions followed new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that people who are fully vaccinated can go without masks or physical distancing in most cases, even when they are indoors or in large groups.
