ABUJA – The Inspector-General of Police(I-DP) Mohammed Adamu, on Thursday, prayed the Federal High Court, Abuja, to allow the police to investigate a former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, over alleged staff abuse. Gbagi was alleged to have ordered four of his staff to be stripped naked and photographed over a theft case at his hotel, Signatious Hotel in Effurun, Delta. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gbagi, on Sept. 30, 2020, filed a fundamental rights application before Justice Taiwo Taiwo, seeking an order to restrain the I-G and others from arresting or detaining him over the matter. ....

Adamu asked senior officers across the country to ensure full compliance with the new regulations in their respective areas of responsibilities, adding that the uncertainty and risks caused by the pandemic had placed additional responsibilities on the general public to comply with safety regulations for all. ....
Operatives of the Nigeria Police INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja have arrested two Kano-based suspects, Ibrahim Aminu and Mohammad Umar, on child pornography charges. According to a statement by the Force on Sunday posted to Twitter, investigations reveal that the suspects are members of a trans-border/international child porn syndicate which sexually abuse and take undue advantage of underage girls and disseminate the video recordings of the illicit sexual act on an international social media WhatsApp group chat known as ‘Pervertidos’ owned and managed by a Brazilian called Adriana. Their arrest followed intelligence received from the INTERPOL NCB, Brazil. ....

Emeka, an orphan, was an employee of Diversey West Africa Limited when he was killed on November 28, 2020. His corpse was dumped in an unregistered, private morgue whose proprietors are yet to coherently explain what happened and why they appropriated his phone. Police investigation has been anything but thorough. There were no follow-ups on possible leads. For instance, the proprietor of the rogue morgue said he was tipped off by his police friend to go and pick Emeka’s corpse after an alleged clash by rival cult gangs near the Lagos Garage in the old city. ....

He made this known during the commissioning of a block of 10 luxury flats constructed and designed by a private developer, Qoral Concepts Limited. He said that the police force has been constantly challenged by limited military provisions, “Hence it became expedient that we work towards guaranteeing a humane and befitting living condition for police personnel.” However, he pointed out that despite partnership with private developers to help build housing estates for the force and elevate the standard of living,”the challenge of regenerating our barracks still remains till today.” ....
