(KAIT) - Weather conditions on Wednesday morning caused a lot of wrecks, keeping 911 dispatchers busy. Jonesboro Police Chief Rick Elliott said city emergency personnel responded to 92 overnight calls. However, dispatchers emphasize the importance to know the reasons to call 911. At 2 o’clock, dispatchers who worked throughout the night called it a day and others came in to take their spots. For these dispatchers, they never know what problem will be on the other end of the line. ....

The person selling the part must provide a description and license number of the car they have and if it is a catalytic converter, more detail is needed. Other information like address, gender, birth date, driverâs license number, and more will be required. ....

(KAIT) - In the Arkansas House of Representatives, a bill has been filed called âGaboâs Lawâ created after the death of Jonesboro Police Departmentâs K-9, Gabo. Since his death, Arkansas State Representatives Jimmy Gazaway, Jack Ladyman, and State Senator David Wallace wrote the bill to possibly be passed in this yearâs legislative session. It will allow ambulance transport and treatment in-route to a veterinary clinic if they are injured in the line of duty. ....

(KAIT) - The Arkansas law enforcement task force recently submitted a report to Governor Asa Hutchinson. The report aims to increase accountability and training while also raising the pay to a more competitive level. Jonesboro Police Chief Rick Elliott and Assistant Chief Lynn Waterworth say the recommendations came as an encouragement to the department. âIt was very refreshing,â Waterworth said. âThat those things that we were trying to do and that we felt were important, the task force felt was very important as well.â ....
JONESBORO â Construction of restrooms at the Jonesboro shooting sports complex will be on the agenda Tuesday for the city council. The councilâs finance and administration committee endorsed a change order last week to a contract with Ramsonâs Inc. to add the restrooms to the job assignment. At the request of Mayor Harold Perrin and Police Chief Rick Elliott, the council agreed to add $500,000 to this yearâs capital improvement budget for the additional project. Elliott he wanted to avoid having to use portable toilets for the first events. Construction of the restrooms had initally been planned for a later stage of construction. ....
