NATO This week (8 June 2021), Poland delivered medical equipment and supplies, including facemasks, protective gloves and suits, to Iraq in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and Poland coordinated this support made possible by Poland’s donation to the NATO stockpile. The Polish Armed Forces Operational Command and the Polish Military Contingent in Iraq funded the provision, storage and transportation of the donation. The Polish Embassy in Baghdad supported its distribution, handing the protective equipment over to Dr. Adnan Jabbar Neama, the Deputy Director of Storage and Distribution Affairs Department of the Ministry of Health and Environment of the Republic of Iraq. Earlier this year, Poland delivered similar consignments to Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, including sanitizing liquid and protective masks. ....

Provision, storage and transportation of the donation was funded by the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command, and the Polish Military Contingent in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The distribution of the protective equipment was supported by the Polish Embassy in Sarajevo, where the supplies were handed over to the Ministry of Security for further distribution. In March 2021, Poland delivered a similar consignment to Bosnia and Herzegovina after having provided, bilateral, in kind assistance to the country, including sanitizing liquid and protective masks, in 2020. ....
Ceerwan Aziz/PAP/EPA President Andrzej Duda has extended Poland s foreign military missions in the Middle East and Europe. The Polish Military Contingent in Iraq, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait will consist of up to 350 soldiers and employees from January 1 to June 30, 2021. The troops, under US command, are involved in Operation Inherent Resolve against the so-called Islamic State. The president also extended, until June 31, the participation of the Polish Military Contingent in the international force in Kosovo and North Macedonia as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The contingent in the countries numbers about 300 soldiers and employees. Another 250 troops and employees serve in Romania and Bulgaria as part of Nato’s Forward Presence brigade, while another 80 are deployed in Turkey, also under Nato command. ....
