Ceerwan Aziz/PAP/EPA President Andrzej Duda has extended Poland's foreign military missions in the Middle East and Europe. The Polish Military Contingent in Iraq, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait will consist of up to 350 soldiers and employees from January 1 to June 30, 2021. The troops, under US command, are involved in Operation Inherent Resolve against the so-called Islamic State. The president also extended, until June 31, the participation of the Polish Military Contingent in the international force in Kosovo and North Macedonia as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The contingent in the countries numbers about 300 soldiers and employees. Another 250 troops and employees serve in Romania and Bulgaria as part of Nato’s Forward Presence brigade, while another 80 are deployed in Turkey, also under Nato command.
