ISLAMABAD: In a serious distortion of the basic pay scale scheme, government servants belonging to 58 entities draw extra allowances and, in some cases, their salaries are two to three times higher than those of ordinary government servants.
Interestingly these entities include authorities like the President’s Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office, the National Assembly, Senate Secretariat and all the superior courts which according to their mandate are supposed to ensure fair play, equality and merit.
In a recent notification issued by the Finance Ministry for the grant of a Disparity Reduction Allowance at the rate of 25 percent of the basic pay scales to civil employees in BS-20-22 of the federal government, the ministry listed the names of those 58 entities whose employees are already drawing extra allowances. ....

KARACHI:Additional Inspector General Farhat Junejo, head of internal accountability bureau of Sindh Police, has been appointed as Inquiry Officer by Sindh Inspector General Mushtaq Mahar, to investigate recovery of big quantities of drugs from Jamshoro Police officials.
On July 18, 2021 (Sunday) six policemen of Jamshoro-based Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) were arrested in Clifton, Karachi along with the 76 kg of Charas found in the police mobile van they were travelling-in, by Pakistan Rangers, Sindh.
According to sources, Pakistan Rangers, Sindh acting on intelligence information made the arrest, recovered a huge quantity of drugs and handed over the suspects to Police Station Boat Basin for further legal proceedings. Sources of the Sindh government informed ‘The News’ that Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Shah directed IGP Mahar to conduct impartial investigations into the alleged involvement of Police official Sarwar Rahpoto, brother of MNA S ....
