Dec 28, 2020 BLOOMSBURG â A 42-year old man faces criminal homicide, kidnapping and abuse of a corpse charges in connection with the abduction and murder of a 26-year old Bloomsburg woman. Harold David Haulman, III, who is listed on court documents as a transient with no permanent address, faces charges in the death of Erica Shultz, Luzerne County detective and former state trooper Cpl. Shawn Williams, the arresting officer, said. Police located the victim s body Sunday in Butler Township, Luzerne County. Investigators are now searching for murder weapons â a mallet hammer and knife â which may have been dropped near Milton. Shultz was reported missing Dec. 4 by her sister, Erin. Williams said the investigation was initiated on Dec. 4 by the Bloomsburg Police Department when officers spoke to the Shultz family. ....

The body of a 26-year-old Bloomsburg woman who went missing in early December was found Sunday in Luzerne County, resulting in criminal charges against a man state police described as a transient. Erica Schultz was last seen Dec. 4 at her home in Columbia County. Investigators said she disappeared under suspicious circumstances, prompting an extensive search. Schultz was autistic and had the mental capacity of a 13- or 14-year-old, police said at the time of her disappearance. She also was diabetic and had taken her medication on the day she disappeared, family members told authorities. ....

Shultz was found in a wooded area near Hobbie Road in Butler Township, about a half-hour away from Bloomsburg, where Shultz lives and the last place she was seen. 42-year-old Harold David Haulman III is charged with criminal homicide, kidnapping, and abuse of corpse. State police say Haulman has no known address, and he does have a criminal history. According to a news report from 2013, Haulman was also arrested for an attempted robbery near Harrisburg. Newswatch 16 spoke to Erica’s family the first week she was missing. They told us then that something didn’t feel right – she had autism and diabetes and her family says she never would have left home without her medicine or her cat, both of which were still in her apartment after she went missing. ....
