[email protected] JOHNSTOWN A Gloversville man convicted of two felony burglary counts is expected to receive up to eight years in state prison when he is sentenced. Nathaniel Coty, 39, of 11 Allen St., pleaded guilty March 2 before County Court Judge Michael W. Smrtic to two counts of third-degree burglary, as part of a plea arrangement. Sentencing was adjourned until a later date, but he is slated to receive 1 1/3 to four years in state prison on each count, to run consecutively. The court disposition satisfies a case in which Coty was arrested twice Oct. 28, 2020 and Jan. 10, 2021. Coty was arrested Oct. 28 by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, charged with four felony counts of third-degree burglary, four felony counts of third-degree criminal mischief, and three misdemeanor petit larceny counts. ....
[email protected] JOHNSTOWN One of two men arrested in spring 2020 for a burglary that resulted in the theft of firearms is looking at up to five years in state prison. Timothy C. Belden, 32, of 121 N. Second St., Northville, pleaded guilty Feb. 16 in Fulton County Court before Judge Polly A. Hoye to one felony count of third-degree burglary, as part of a plea arrangement. Sentencing was adjourned until a later date, but Belden is expected to receive 2 1/2 to five years in state prison as a second felony offender. He also faces possible restitution, and an order or protection would be granted for his victim. ....
[email protected] JOHNSTOWN A Broadalbin man was sentenced recently in Fulton County Court to 15 days in jail for driving intoxicated with two children in his vehicle. Nicholas J. Watson, 33, pleaded guilty Feb. 16 before County Court Judge Polly A. Hoye. Watson’s plea was part of a plea arrangement to felony aggravated driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor DWI, and driving with 0.08 percent or greater blood alcohol content. Watson was also sentenced that day to 15 days in the Fulton County Jail, five years probation, driver’s license revocation, and he must affix an ignition interlock device to his vehicle. The defendant was arrested Jan. 24, 2020 by state police. Troopers said he drove intoxicated with two children in his vehicle. ....
[email protected] JOHNSTOWN A Fonda man involved in the theft of a vehicle and debit card last year was recently sentenced in Fulton County Court to up to six years in state prison. Devon M. Morby, 24, of Jennings Lane, was sentenced Feb. 9 by County Court Judge Polly A. Hoye based on a plea arrangement. He received three to six years in prison, and he must make an unspecified amount of restitution to his victim. The sentence was based on his Dec. 15, 2020 guilty plea to one felony count of third-degree grand larceny. Morby was arrested by Johnstown police at 10:26 p.m. March 9, 2020 on felony counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and third-degree grand larceny. ....
