Zoom screenshot Due to multiple parts needing more information, the Wiscasset planning board Monday night found Central Maine Power’s application incomplete. A complete one is needed before there can be a public hearing on the proposed transmission line upgrade. Another site plan reviewed in the Zoom meeting was from MSD Wiscasset LLC on the proposed solar project at Wiscasset Municipal Airport. Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission’s Emily Rabbe reviewed both applications for completeness and presented detailed memos stating items to address. ....

Located in Yeadon Park at 523 S. Union Ave, the garden is the first of what Chief Anthony Chachi Paparo hopes will be six or seven in the community. The project comes from the Yeadon police departmentâs involvement in the L.O.V.E is the Answer program and the film ââWalking While Black: LOVE is the Answerâ by Los Angles filmmaker A.J. Ali, which is dedicated to improving police and community relationships. ....
Design team chosen for Africatown Welcome Center, city says Updated May 07, 2021; Posted May 07, 2021 The Africatown Welcome Center is pictured on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, in Mobile, Ala. At the time, the welcome center was housed in a mobile home across from the Old Plateau Cemetery. The new center will be located in the same spot, but it will be much larger (approximately 18,000 square feet) and serve as a tourist attraction. That project is being funded by RESTORE Act money. Nicholas Revels enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology program at Gaston College after he graduated from high school. Through the program, he learned what a civil engineering technician may encounter in day-to-day duties on a job site and, in less than a year, was hired as a Level I Drafter for POWER Engineers, Inc. in Fort Mill, South Carolina. “Although I liked all of these different aspects of civil engineering,” Revels said, “I really enjoyed the drafting portion of the program. When I graduated from Gaston College in 2019, I was eager and ready to get out into the work field as a drafter.” ....

Zoom screenshot Monday evening’s Wiscasset planning board meeting drew what Chair Karl Olson called a “record” turnout of 20 attendees. Permitting specialist Cole Peters of POWER Engineers, Inc. represented Central Maine Power to propose a new transmission line on 6.3 miles of existing CMP right-of-way land. The line would run 2.9 miles from the Maine Yankee substation to Woolwich and then back into Wiscasset 3.4 miles northeasterly into Alna. Peters said there would be work in the Maine Yankee yard, as well as the construction of two types of poles that will require board approval. CMP Manager of Permitting and Compliance Gerry Mirabile said the project is related to, but separate from, the New England Clean Energy Connect project and will be a network upgrade owned and operated by ....
