By Julia Bertino Feb 17, 2021 (Galesburg, IL) A Galesburg man is behind bars, accused of intentionally setting a Sunday morning fire that killed a woman. On Wednesday, the Galesburg Police announced the arrest of 38 year old Donald A. Denniston. Investigators say just before 1:00 Sunday morning, the police and fire departments were called to the 200 block of Pine Street for a house fire. Once crews arrived, they found 50 year old Boyd Black, in front of the residence. Police say Black was injured in the fire and was taken to the burn unit at the hospital. Police say Black told officers 60 year old Katrina Hainline was in the home. Once crews got the fire under control, they found the body of Hainline inside the home. ....
Top Regional News: Peoria region sees lowest COVID positivity rate since July 22 Illinois News Desk Peoria region sees lowest COVID positivity rate since July 22 PEORIA Five COVID-19 deaths and 164 new cases were reported in Peoria by public health officials on Wednesday; however, the multi-county region that includes Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties is now reporting its lowest COVID positivity rate in about seven months. All five deaths were from Peoria County a man in his 60s, a woman in her 70s and a woman in her 60s, none of whom lived in long-term care facilities. The other two deaths were a woman in her 80s who lived at Cornerstone Rehabilitation & Health Care and a woman, also in her 80s, who lived at Lutheran Hillside Village. No information was provided by officials as to whether any of the victims had underlying health issues that could have contributed to their deaths. ....
