Khammam: Three women constables on Sunday were fined Rs 3,000 for triple riding on a two wheeler without helmet in Khammam.
The constables, working with the city armed reserve police wing in the town, were assigned for bandobast duty at YS Sharmila’s ‘Sankalpa Sabha’ at Pavilion Grounds in the city on April 9.
Traffic police officials caught the act on CCTV cameras where the trio could be seen on a scooter without helmets and also talking on mobile phones.

Former YSR Congress Party Telangana State president K Raghava Reddy has vowed to make ensuing public meeting to be addressed by Sharmila, daughter of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy, in the town on April 9, a grand success.
Addressing mediapersons here on Tuesday, he said the scheduled public meeting christened “Sankalpa Sabha” would be held in adherence to the COVID-19 safety norms at the Pavilion Grounds in the town on Friday evening.
Stating that the police permission for the public meeting was obtained, he said admirers of YSR were determined to make the Sankalpa Sabha a mega success.

CLP leader leads a huge rally in support of farmers
The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday launched a blistering attack on the TRS dispensation in the State accusing it of trying to shirk its bounden responsibility of ensuring minimum support price for farmers and leaving the peasants at the mercy of middlemen by toeing the line of the BJP regime at the Centre.
Mr Vikramarka led a huge rally christened Rythu Kavathu, organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC) here on Monday to express solidarity with the ongoing agitations by farmers against the Centre s new farm laws.
