Airplane makes emergency landing in Venice pond; 1 person hospitalized

One person was hospitalized after a small airplane crashed into a pond in Venice on Saturday evening, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office reported.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the plane, reporting engine problems, made an emergency landing at about 5:15 p.m. in a pond in the 490 block of Derbyshire Drive in the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club.
Two people were on board the plane. One was hospitalized for observation.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane is a 2006 Cessna 172S single-engine aircraft registered to Florida Flight Training Center in Venice.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A small plane took a dive into a Venice pond this afternoon.The Sarasota Sheriff’s Office assisting The Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
A small plane made an emergency landing in reference to engine problems, in a pond at Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club (499 Derbyshire Dr. Venice, Fl 34285). There were 2 people on board. One transported to hospital for observation. ....

VENICE, Fla. - One person was taken to the hospital after a plane crashed into a Venice pond Saturday afternoon, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
It happened around 5:15 p.m. at the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club.
According to SCSO, the pilot reported engine problems before making the emergency landing.
Crews on the scene tell FOX 13 s Kimberly Kuizon that an instructor and student were on board when the engine failed. The instructor took over the plane and made an emergency landing. ....
