College softball: RPI, Skidmore eliminated in Liberty League semifinals | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Both RPI and Skidmore lost Wednesday in the Liberty League softball semifinals. Skidmore fell 4-0 at Rochester. Toni Anne Hahn had a three-RBI double in the fourth inning that saw top-seeded Rochester score all of its runs, which were all earned. Rochester’s Hannah Leahy struck out six in recording the shutout win. Five Skidmore players recorded a hit apiece, while Hannah Davis struck out three in six innings. Kaitlyn Judd reached base safely in three plate appearances with a hit, walk and hit by pitch. In Saturday’s league final, Rochester will play Ithaca, which defeated RPI 2-0. RPI was no-hit in the defeat, as Beth Fleming struck out seven and walked three. Ithaca scored both its runs in the sixth inning, and both runs were unearned in an inning that saw RPI commit two errors. ....
December 28, 2020 By Waterways Journal Burton Suedel, a research biologist at the Environmental Laboratory of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), has been recognized by ASTM International for his leadership on a four-year project to develop a guide for risk-based corrective action for contaminated sediment sites. ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) International presented Suedel with a Distinguished Service Award in October for his role in leading the working group, which included members from public companies, trade groups, government agencies and environmental consultancies, in developing the set of guidelines. “I was completely caught off guard and humbled by being recognized by ASTM,” Suedel said. “The work itself is its own reward, and if someone recognizes your effort, that’s the icing on the cake. (WTOC) - A check for $8,500 was given to Chatterbox in Pooler to help pay off therapy bills for ten families and itâs something they said was a blessing. âWeâve had some families lose jobs, we have some families who just donât have very good insurance coverage at all,â said Chatterbox owner and speech-language pathologist Beth Fleming. âFor each visit, they owe a large copay and their children may have three therapies on each day and come several times a week, so those balances add up very, very quickly.â ....
