The 54 daily new positive COVID-19 cases reported in the county on Tuesday brought the countyâs total number of positive cases to 58,149 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county, according to the countyâs COVID-19 online dashboard. EAST NORRITON â After a year of pandemic protocols keeping visitors out of hospitals to protect patients, their family members and hospital staff from the spread of the coronavirus, restrictions have been lifting at area facilities in recent months. âThe ability of patients to have visitors, whether it be family, a friend, clergy or a support person, is really an important part of the healing process,â noted Beth Duffy, Chief Operating Officer of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. âWith COVID, it was one of the first things that we took a pretty hard stance on and we closed all visitations. Then it started to ramp up when the World Health Organization declared a global emergency on Jan. 30, 2020. The first case was reported in the United States on Feb. 1, and then the first death from COVID was reported on Feb. 28 in a nursing home in Seattle.
