As we approach the end of May, normally an active time for lacrosse, the arenas remain quiet for a 2nd consecutive year.
Last week, Major Series Lacrosse in conjunction with both the Western Lacrosse Association and Lacrosse Canada announced the 2021 season would not be staged and the National Championship for the Mann Cup was also being scratched.
A day later, the Ontario Series made a similar statement cancelling the Senior season and also announcing there would be no Presidents Cup Championship Tournament again this year. ....

By Josh Giles Writer The Provincial Women’s Softball Association (PWSA) knows that COVID-19 has hit hard. But they are doing their part by helping out people in Indigenous communities such as Six Nations and others to get girls back into the sport of softball. A government grant of $14,000 will help 500 parents and coaches take a mandatory course on good working relationships in order for their children to participate in softball with the PWSA. The course is used to help bring spurr good working relationships between parents, coaches and officials, as interactions can get pretty heated on occasions.
