American tech major Microsoft Corp is setting up its first data centre region in Malaysia. In a separate development, Grosvenor Asia Pacific, the Asian arm of London-based international property company Grosvenor Group, has invested in Australia-headquartered Taronga Ventures’s RealTech Fund.

Privately-held Grosvenor on Monday announced the appointment of Kozo Hiratani as president of the UK property group’s business in Japan, effective 1 February.
Hiratani has extensive experience in the real estate industry, having worked at Mitsui Fudosan for 25 years before joining Grosvenor, a centuries-old firm owned by the Duke of Westminster and his family.
Hiratani will also sit on the board of Grosvenor Asia Pacific and serve as an executive committee member.

Asia Art Archive Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary At The Hong Kong Country Club

What better way to celebrate Asia Art Archive’s (AAA) 20th anniversary than throwing a party amid the green environs of the Hong Kong Country Club? As the organisation officially left its teenage years behind, more than 30 works donated by artists, collectors and galleries went under the hammer at a highly anticipated invite-only dinner and live auction. Pieces by Yayoi Kusama, Stanley Wong and Irene Chou were among those up for grabs, with all proceeds going to support AAA’s mission to fund education and research into contemporary art in Asia.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be celebrating 20 years. This is an important milestone for us. We’re equally excited about the continued growth and dynamism of contemporary art in this part of the world and feel privileged to be part of this story,” said Benjamin Cha, co-chair of AAA. ....
