Jailed in April: The people convicted for crimes in Dorset

‘Dangerous’ robber headbutted man and stormed flat
Christopher David Davies headbutted a man outside a flat in Lennox Street on January 14 before entering the property, stabbing a sofa and taking around £400 from the victim, Bournemouth Crown Court heard.
Davies pleaded guilty to assault, robbery and criminal damage.
The court heard 35-year-old Davies headbutted a man before entering the flat with two other men.
Prosecutor Charlene Sumnall said: He headbutted the victim at the front door of the flat. Once inside he said, give us the drugs and money and if you don t give us what we want we will stab you . ....

Dorset man sentenced after repeatedly beating puppy to the head


A DORSET man who was seen beating an eight-month-old puppy outside a store has been banned from owning an animal for up to five years.
Martin Thomas admitted causing unnecessary suffering to an animal and failing to ensure the needs of an animal for which he was responsible were met.
The act happened around 6pm on February 12 when officers were called to reports of a man beating his Husky dog outside Tesco Express on Bournemouth Road.
Thomas, aged 37, of Bournemouth Road, Poole, was sentenced at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday (26 April).
After enquiries were carried out, officers located Thomas at his address nearby and due to the concerns that had been raised the dog was seized using powers under the Animal Welfare Act. ....

Covid rule breaker sentenced for a variety of offences

A WOMAN who breached the first Covid lockdown on two occasions has been sentenced for a string of crimes.
Courtney Louise Lockyer, 21, admitted both breaches as well as offence of theft, criminal damage, driving without due care and attention, failing to comply with a dispersal order and causing intentional harassment, alarm or distress.
Lockyer, of Suffolk Road, Bournemouth, was sentenced at Poole Magistrates’ Court on April 14.
Prosecutors said that during the first lockdown, the defendant left where she was staying in Poole on two days in April 2020 without a reasonable excuse.
The court heard she drove a Ford car in Bath Road, Bournemouth, without due care and attention on July 26, 2020. ....
