A MAN who threw his catch and fishing equipment overboard when he was confronted by enforcement officers in Poole Harbour has been fined.
Patrick Hennessy, 25, was taken to court by Southern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (Southern IFCA) in relation to events on the night of January 12, last year.
Hennessy, whose address was given in Primrose Gardens, Poole, was sentenced at Poole Magistrates Court on April 19 after pleading guilty to two offences under the Marine and Coastal Access Act.
He admitted obstructing enforcement officer Adam Parry and failing to comply with a direction reasonably given by Mr Parry. ....

Thief stole 150 Cadbury Creme Eggs from Tesco in Bournemouth

A MAN who stole 150 Cadbury Creme Eggs from a Tesco store in Bournemouth has been handed a prison sentence.
Scott Walsh-Fleming stole the large number of chocolate treats and 10 packets of coffee beans from Tesco Express in The Triangle on January 6.
Appearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on April 20 by video link from custody, Walsh-Fleming, 37 and of no fixed abode, admitted stealing the items, which had an overall value of £94.60.
He also admits a second charge of theft, relating to stealing £63.30 worth of goods from Co-op in Madeira Road, Bournemouth, on the same day.
The defendant was committed to prison for seven days, with the bench noting the seriousness of the offence as he was already serving a term of imprisonment for separate matters. ....

Man in court after alleged pet store headbutt assault

A MAN is due to appear in court in connection with an alleged assault at a Christchurch pet store.
The incident was said to have occurred after staff at Pets Corner, Somerford Road, asked an individual to put on a mask.
A member of staff was reportedly verbally abused and then headbutted.
It happened around 3pm on Friday, September 4, last year.
Police later issued CCTV images of a man they wanted to speak to, prompting a 39-year-old man from New Milton to voluntarily attend the police station for interview.
He has now been issued with a postal requisition to appeal before Poole Magistrates Court on Friday, April 23, for offences of assault by beating and using threatening, abusive or intimidating words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress. ....

Drug use leads to visitors being banned from Boscombe house


ILLEGAL drug use and anti-social behaviour has led to a Boscombe house being closed by the courts.
The action was secured by BCP Council, with support from Dorset Police, in relation to 32 Grosvenor Gardens.
A council officer said the order granted by Poole Magistrates Court on April 8 means tenants can remain at the property but it is now an offence for others to visit.
Magistrates granted the three-month closure order, with Dorset Police saying the force is committed to taking action when concerns over anti-social behaviour are raised by residents.
Andy Williams, BCP Council s head of safer communities, said: “BCP Council work closely with Dorset Police to tackle anti-social behaviour and will use all legal powers available to us to take action against those who cause disorder. ....
