More trail development planned for the North Cariboo in 2021 SHARE ON: Trail development was on the agenda at Tuesday night’s North Cariboo Joint Advisory meeting. Trails Coordinator Ian van Leusden had the floor and went through the work that was planned for 2021 on all eight of the Quesnel area’s trail networks. That includes the Wonderland trail network on Quesnel-Hydraulic Road that is a legally sanctioned rec site and Trails BC Location that is maintained by the Goldrush Cycling Club. “This year the cycling club was able to secure NDIT (Northern Development Initiative Trust) funding and COVID funding for the construction of four new trails….one kids loop, one intermediate and two advanced trails, as well as upgrading the original Wonderland Trail.” ....
Northern Health says there was an exposure at the high school on May 4th. School District Superintendent Sue-Ellen Miller. “We know that Northern Health will do all that contact tracing, they’ll be talking with whoever the individual is who tested positive and will identify other people. So I think one of the most important messages is just to trust that they’re going to do the contact tracing, and they will let the District know if there are any additional cases, so at this time no additional cases.”
A letter went home to parents at the school today. It suggests that parents and students self monitor for signs of illness until May 19th at midnight. ....
Quesnel Elementary School identified for COVID-19 exposure SHARE ON: A Covid-19 exposure has been identified at Voyageur Elementary School in Quesnel. A letter went home to parents today from Northern Health indicating that it happened on April 22nd, 23rd and 26th. Public Health is now working to identify any close contacts among staff or students. Anyone identified as a close contact will be notified directly by public health and asked to isolate for 14 days from their last date of possible exposure. If you do not receive a call from public health, your risk of exposure is considered to be very low and you are not recommended to isolate at this time. ....
There has been another COVID-19 exposure within the Quesnel School District. SHARE ON: The latest COVID-19 exposure Quesnel School District was at at Bouchie Lake Elementary. According to the Northern Health website, it happened sometime between April 20th and the 23rd. Northern Health doesn’t say if it was a student or a teacher that was exposed. This is the second exposure in the District this month. The other was at Kersley Elementary between April 6th and the 8th. There were also two last year, at Quesnel Junior School and McNaughton Centre. ....
