Nixa Public Schools names Ellen Fogle its 2021 Teacher of the Year

Ellen Fogle, a sixth-grade teacher at Inman Intermediate School, was named the 2021 Teacher of the Year for Nixa Public Schools.
The surprise announcement was made on Facebook early Monday. Fogle was honored along with three finalists: Rachel Claunch, Jason Foster and Mandy Patton.
Typically, Nixa s top teacher is announced at a spring gala. The district did not schedule that event this year due to the pandemic.
Fogle, a 2011 graduate of Parkview High School, has taught in Nixa since August 2016, teaching fifth grade at Inman before moving to sixth grade in 2019.

Food For Neighbors celebrates receiving over 21,000 pounds of food from over 1,200 households during its April 24th Red Bag Program food collection. This is a record amount of food for the five-year-old nonprofit, and the accomplishment highlights the generosity of communities in supporting students who struggle with food security. Among these communities are the neighborhoods in and around Falls Church, which collected 5,877 pounds of food from 244 households.

The Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology in Lawrenceville was rated first in Georgia and ninth in the nation among nearly 18,000 high schools ranked by U.S. News and World Report. (Jim Massara/Patch)
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA A Gwinnett County high school has been rated among the top 10 in the nation, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.
In addition to being ranked first in Georgia, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology in Lawrenceville is ranked ninth nationwide.
Statewide, one other Gwinnett school made the top 20: North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee at 17. ....
