The late Ahmed Hussein-Suale The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) on Monday said the delay in serving justice by arresting and prosecuting the killers of Ahmed Suale, an investigative journalist, murdered two years ago, is unacceptable. “It is not within the bounds of possibility to bring Suale back to life. But it is within the confines of the capacity of the police to bring the perpetrators to book. This is our Conviction,” Mr Roland Affail Monney, President of the GJA, said at a forum to mark the second anniversary of the assassination of Ahmed Suale, who used to work for Tiger Eye, a media investigative entity in Accra. ....
It’s been two years since investigative journalist Ahmed Suale’s life was callously snuffed out by suspected assassins. The police have since been on the tails of his killers much to no avail yet. While the nation awaits closure on the gruesome murder in the national capital, the Ghana Journalists Association, the Media Foundation for West Africa and Tiger Eye, the company Suale worked for until his killing, are partnering to gather journalists in Ghana at a forum on Monday to deliberate on threats and attacks against journalists. The forum by the media partners will also commemorate the slaying of Ahmed Suale, invitation to which event signed by Affail Monney, President of the Ghana Journalists Association, also expresses concern about “increasing levels of election-related threats.” ....

The late Ahmed Suale A media non-governmental organisation, United Press for Development Network (UPDN) has said it is astonished at the inability of the Ghana Police Service to find the murderers of the late Tiger Eye PI investigator, Ahmed Suale two years after the incident. This was contained in a statement issued by the organisation ahead of the commemoration of the second edition of the ‘Ahmed Suale Press Freedom Memorial Lecture.’ The UPDN noted that, together with many other media non-governmental organisations across the world, it is “dumbfounded that the Ghana Police Service is unsuccessful and lacking with evidence found through forensic investigations to unravel and punish perpetrators of this heinous and monstrous crime after two years.” ....
