Summer has arrived, and the hottest season of the year is heating up in Netflix land in July: For the first time ever in its nearly 25-year history, the streaming service will release new installments of a movie series one after the other on a weekly basis.
This rare move marks a departure from the company s long-standing tradition of dropping an entire movie franchise or seasons of shows in one massive rollout all at the same time.
So get excited, as the consequential moment kicks off Friday with the debut of the Netflix original movie Fear Street Part 1: 1994, the first installment in a time-spanning teen horror trilogy. The rollout continues on July 9 with Fear Street Part 2: 1978, followed by Fear Street Part 3: 1666 on July 16.

Plot
For Din, life is not easy. Between his job and being a college student, the hustle never stops. Until he stumbles upon a magic teapot, which happens to be the home of a wish dragon. With three wishes bestowed upon him, it s up to Din to use them wisely. But for him, what truly matters is being able to reunite with his childhood best friend, Lina. But, turns out, the secret of the wish dragon isn t quite a secret and now, it s up to Din to protect all that he loves, including a certain smart-mouth dragon.

The movie managed to create a lot of buzz since it was announced that Snyder will be helming the movie. The project was first announced in 2007 with a different director, but it was shelved. However, in 2019, Netflix acquired the distribution rights to the project from Warner Bros with Snyder directing the film.
