Lebo said teachers already have the right to join or leave the union at any time. All the law does, she said, is make it harder to join and create more work for school districts. Avon s union has around 440 members, she said. Instead of signing a form and turning it into the union officers, each teacher will now have to sign a form created by the office of the Attorney General. That form will have to be submitted to the school district and central office staff will have to email each teacher to confirm the receipt of the form.
