Tri-Valley Career Center will continue to offer in-person, drop-off and pick-up services for 2020 taxes. Bring your tax documents to the drop-off location for review with an IRS-certified volunteer, then return the following week to sign and pick up your returns. The center will e-file the returns on your behalf. Virtual services are available for taxpayers who qualify for VITA services and are able to submit their tax documents electronically. These 100% virtual services are conducted without in-person contact and can be accessed through the IRS website at getyourrefund.org. This year, the drop-off site is located at Dublin Professional Center, 7600 Dublin Blvd., in Dublin, at the corner or Golden Gate Drive and Dublin Boulevard. Tax services will be performed on Wednesdays, by appointment only. You can drop-off your tax documents on Wednesday and return the following Wednesday to sign the completed returns. Pleasanton is the first Alameda County school district to welcome all grades back to campus who wanted to return in their hybrid plans of instruction. One group will attend Monday and Tuesday, the next Thursday and Friday and attend remotely on off days. District rep Patrick Gannon says this will be all new to all of us and requests teachers and parents alike be patient as they maneuver through the next few weeks. Most of the teachers in the Pleasanton school district have been vaccinated and those who have not had the opportunity will have access this weekend to get the vaccine! ....
PLEASANTON, Calif. (KGO) Middle and high school students in Pleasanton returned to the classroom Thursday for the first time in a year. The school district is the first in Alameda County to open up schools to older kids. Pleasanton elementary schools opened last week. I think it s not about being first, it s about being there for kids and we were able to get our ducks in a row, so to speak, said Superintendent David Haglund. Haglund is now getting calls from school districts across the state looking at him as an example. I was talking to a board member from Southern California last night and my response to her question was- it s about the village. If the village gets together and works together, we can make things happen. But it does take everybody, he said. ....
