Everyone has something they can offer the community. That includes the players of the Fort Wayne Komets. On March 17, Prince Chapman Academy fifth-grade teacher Veronica Wilson and her class had the opportunity to have two players from the Fort Wayne Komets read to their class. The book they read was âBrady Brady and the MVPâ by Mary Shaw and Chuck Temple. The book series is based on Brady Shaw, a former Komets player. Komets players Anthony Petruzzelli and Marcus McIvor joined through a Zoom video to read to the class. They took turns reading and showing the students the pictures in the book. ....

The game saw the visitors jump out to a 1-0 lead after one quarter before Kennett scored three goals in the second quarter to take the lead and never look back. The Eagles were coming off a bye in the first round, which meant 10 days off, while the Bulldogs beat their Laconia rinkmates, Laconia-Winnisquam-Inter-Lakes earlier in the week. ....

Haas had re-signed with Fort Wayne last summer, after totaling two goals and nine points as a rookie. He has been released. He most famously was a central figure in the Jan. 31 brawls at Jacksonville, Florida, that resulted in 29 penalties, 163 penalty minutes and 28 games worth of suspensions, including 16 games for the Icemen s Emerson Clark and six apiece for Fort Wayne s Haas and Chase Stewart. The fisticuffs were the aftermath of Jacksonville s Dajon Mingo concussing Fort Wayne s leading scorer, Brady Shaw, with a hit Jan. 30 that resulted in neither penalty nor suspension. ....
