(Photo by Joshua Spaulding) ( click for larger version) March 10, 2021CONWAY The Division III hockey quarterfinal battle at the Ham Arena in Conway on Saturday was a battle worthy of playoff hockey, as the Kennett Eagles rallied from an early deficit to knock off the Belmont-Gilford Bulldogs by a 4-2 score, advancing Kennett to the Division III semifinals. The game saw the visitors jump out to a 1-0 lead after one quarter before Kennett scored three goals in the second quarter to take the lead and never look back. The Eagles were coming off a bye in the first round, which meant 10 days off, while the Bulldogs beat their Laconia rinkmates, Laconia-Winnisquam-Inter-Lakes earlier in the week. ....

While the Laconia-Winnisquam-Inter-Lakes Lakers, playing without two of their top players, got off to a hot start, it was the Belmont-Gilford Bulldogs who finished strong, rallying from a 3-1 first period deficit to pull off a 4-3 win to advance to the quarterfinal round. ....

The Bulldogs responded to their coach s message, seemingly throwing everything they had at Berlin-Gorham netminder Kolin Melanson. However, it wasn t quite enough, as the hosts scored a goal in the first period and held on for the 1-0 win. ....
Bulldogs back on the ice in search of deep playoff run Sports Editor - Salmon Press Newspapers January 06, 2021LACONIA The Belmont-Gilford hockey team is returning to the ice for another season, backstopped by a returning First Team All-State goaltender and a host of solid returning players and newcomers under fourth-year head coach Jason Parent. The Bulldogs will be relying heavily on senior captain Collin McGreevy, who earned First Team All-State last year as the team s goaltender and will be looked at to backstop another season. Additionally, sophomore center Owen Guerin, junior defenseman Zoltan Stefan and junior forward Griffin Tondreau are all back on the ice and expected to carry a good chunk of the weight for the Bulldogs in the new season. ....
