Wayne City schools are scheduled to hold their graduations today in the district's competition gym. The high school graduation will begin at 2 p.m. and the grade schools's at 5 p.m. Each graduate will be allowed 15 guests and all guests and graduates should wear face coverings while indoors. Individual photographs will be taken in the performance gym 90 minutes before each ceremony, or 12:30 p.m. for the high school and 3:30 p.m. for the grade school students. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1513 new cases of the coronavirus Saturday and 46 deaths, bringing the state's totals to 1,365,020 cases and 22,415 deaths. According to reports, the Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department reported five new cases of the virus in Franklin County Saturday, bringing the county's total to 4569 cases and 67 total deaths. One person is in police custody following the incident, according to police. The public is not at risk, officials said. A National Weather Service Fire Weather Watch continues through today for Franklin, Adams, York counties, and many surrounding counties. With humidity near 20 percent and light winds with gusts up to 30 mph, conditions are favorable to spread fire. A large brush fire in Franklin County Saturday consumed 100 acres near Amberson Road, according to a post on the West End Fire & Rescue Company s Facebook page. The fire company said in the post that the steep terrain of the mountain, coupled with plenty of ground fuels to assist with fire spread made fire attack difficult. The fire has been turned over to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and will continue to burn as it is extinguished for the next couple days, according to the fire company. ....
