Live from cooper hospital with more on his injuries. Shawnette. Reporter iain and lucy the officer were told is in stable condition right now. He was shot in the upper right thigh. Camden metro police chief Scott Thompson spoke with us moments ago. He says that the officer is doing okay. But he will be monitored throughout the night. So as we take look at video from the scene earlier this evening, here is what we know. This happened just after 10 00 oclock tonight in the south section of the city near eighth and chelten. Officers approached three suspicious males. Thats how the police chief worded it. One started to run. The officer engaged in some sort of a struggle witness suspect after they say he pull out gun. That suspect were told shot the officer. Fellow officers managed to arrest the suspect right there at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was not injured.
