First time in its history, Gauhati University to hold all exams through open-book system | Guwahati News

Gauhati University has about 5,000 post-graduate students, while 350 colleges under GU have over 2.5 lakh students Guwahati: Giving respite to about 3 lakh students, the Gauhati University (GU) on Friday announced that for the first time in its history, all its examinations will be conducted via open-book system in the online mode only in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases. Under the open-boo k system, students will be able to refer books, notes and other study materials to answer the questions. According to the latest notification issued by the university’s registrar, Hemanta Kumar Nath, post-graduate examinations will begin from June 1 and will be completed by June 15 while undergraduate exams will start from the second week of June.

Gauhati University PG, UG Exams to be Held in Online Mode The Gauhati University has decided to conduct all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) exams in online mode.   |  7 May 2021 12:34 PM GMT GUWAHATI: With the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Gauhati University has decided to conduct all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) exams in online mode. It also notified that the PG examinations will commence from June 1 through June 15, while UG exams will be started from the second week of June. According to reports, an urgent online meeting was held on May 7, 2021, under the chairmanship of Prof Pratap Jyoti Handique, Vice-Chancellor, Gauhati University in which the Presidents and the General Secretaries of Gauhati University Teachers Association Assam College Principals Council decided to opt for the online mode of examinations.
