POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING AFTER A 40-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS ATTACKED AFTER DEFEATING ANOTHER MAN IN A GAME OF POOL AT A FAYETTE COUNTY BAR. STATE POLICE SAID THE INCIDENT HAPPENED A LITTLE AFTER 11:30 ON MARCH 12 AT WHITE’S TAVERN ON PITTSBURGH ROAD IN FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP. POLICE SAY THE 40-YEAR-OLD VICTIM DEFEATED ANOTHER MAN IN A GAME OF POOL AND A SHORT TIME LATER THE MAN WHO LOST SUCKER PUNCHED THE VICTIM WHILE HE WAS SETTING UP ANOTHER GAME OF POOL. THE VICTIM WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS AND THEN STRUCK SEVERAL MORE TIMES BEFORE HIS ATTACKER FLED THE BAR. ....
James Beaty Feb 22, 2021 Pittsburg County commissioners and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma have set up several water stations as water outages and broken pipes continue to leave some city and county residents without water service. District 2 Commissioner Kevin Smith said Monday he has a water tank truck at the District 2 County Barn in Pittsburg filled with non-potable water, meaning it can be used for household purposes, but not for drinking or preparing food. Smith also has some drinking water available. We have 4,000 gallons of non-potable water, plus a couple of pallets of drinking water, Smith said Monday. Smith said there s a limit of one case per household for bottled drinking water. ....
A FIFE MSP said the decision to close Halbeath s Post Office had been driven by greed over the need of people and communities . Alex Rowley said he was deeply disappointed on receiving a letter explaining the reasons behind the service being axed. As reported by the Press in November, Post Office Ltd confirmed the branch within the Spar at Pittsburgh Road will close temporarily following the resignation of the operator and the withdrawal of the premises for post office use. A Post Office spokesperson said: “The operator for Pittsburgh Road has resigned, which will take effect on Saturday 23 January at 12.30pm. The store where the Post Office is based is remaining open. ....
