Pittsburg County Treasurer Jennifer Lenox-Hackler joined several hundred other individuals in getting her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination Tuesday at the Expo Center in McAlester. She didn t wince as Kelly Lamon, a nurse at Pittsburg County Health Department, gave her the vaccination. Lenox-Hackler said she hardly felt a thing as Lamon administered the shot. ....
James Beaty Feb 22, 2021 Pittsburg County commissioners and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma have set up several water stations as water outages and broken pipes continue to leave some city and county residents without water service. District 2 Commissioner Kevin Smith said Monday he has a water tank truck at the District 2 County Barn in Pittsburg filled with non-potable water, meaning it can be used for household purposes, but not for drinking or preparing food. Smith also has some drinking water available. We have 4,000 gallons of non-potable water, plus a couple of pallets of drinking water, Smith said Monday. Smith said there s a limit of one case per household for bottled drinking water. ....

You must bring your own container, said McAlester/Pittsburg County Office of Emergency Management Deputy Director Lois Lupardus. Those wanting to accept the offer should go to the Krebs Fire Department at 10 North Ash, which is behind Krebs City Hall. Water will be available Friday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 20, also from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The offer is open to anyone in the area needing water, not just those in Krebs, Lupardus said. ....
