AB InBev Invests $160M to Boost Capacity at 2 Major Breweries

A UK-based subsidiary of brewing giant AB InBev, Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I, announced plans Thursday to dedicate £115 million, or about $160.7 million, to expand the production capacity and efficiency of two of its UK breweries.   The investment comes as the UK is preparing for an economic recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. AB InBev will add modern and eco-friendly infrastructure to its breweries in Lancashire and South Wales to increase the capabilities of their brewing, canning, and bottling assets. Across the two sites, the company will increase capacity by about 3.6 million hL/yr, or about 630 million pints of beer.

Budweiser Brewing Group To Distribute Mahou In The UK

4th June 2021 Budweiser Brewing Group has announced a new partnership with the Mahou brand in the UK. Effective 19 July, the AB InBev subsidiary will be responsible for the sale, marketing and distribution of the Spanish beer across all channels. Mahou Cinco Estrellas is the flagship brand of Mahou, Spain’s leading beer in the On and Off-Trade that is also popular around the world. Through the new agreement with Mahou, Budweiser Brewing Group will bolster its portfolio of beers in the UK. The company plans to roll out a programme to build the brand in the country over the coming months through renewed investment.
