William "Bill" Reed, Jr. 1940 - 2021 | Obituaries


William “Bill” Reed Jr., age 80, of Warba, MN, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his home with his wife by his side.
Bill was born in 1940 to William Sr. and Vera (Nolette) Reed. He attended school in Deer River before going to Itasca Junior College and the University of Minnesota where he got his Chemical Engineering degree. Bill served in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves from May 1963 to May 1969. On June 9, 1962, Bill was united in marriage to Judith Byers, and the couple had six children. Bill worked at Potlatch in Cloquet, MN until the fall of 1976 when he began working at Blandin Paper Co. After his wife, Judith, passed away in 2008, Bill married Barbara (Lee) Dorry on May 22, 2010 and the two shared the next ten years of their lives together. Bill and Barb were members of Grand Rapids Assembly of God and Bill was considered to be a Mighty Prayer Warrior, always praying for and thinking of his family. He loved being outdoors, especially fishin ....

Norman WWII veteran celebrates centennial birthday

NORMAN — Over the last week, John Cole, Jr. has received well over 100 cards from family, friends, former service members, local politicians and even Lincoln Riley, all wishing him a happy centennial birthday.
The retired Air Force lieutenant colonel sat outside Saturday as Oklahomans rode by his house in a drive-by parade as part of the celebration his birthday.
Through church at First Baptist Church Norman, his time in the military, his early years in Arkansas and his time at OU, John has built many relationships in his 100 years of life. ....

Tommy Hellesto


Tommy Hellesto left this physical plane Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, following a stroke.
He was born May 31, 1935, on Vashon Island, Wash., and he grew up there. Following high school, he started his career at Boeing where he worked as an apprentice, and then a journeyman. Soon, he and his young family journeyed to Pullman, where he worked as a machinist at Dana Hall for many years. He was always grateful to have a skill that he could put to use on many interesting projects such as creating an artificial leg for a racehorse (Boitron); a window on the side of a cow through which researchers and students could observe the workings of the bovine stomach; and a specialized titanium dart for tranquilizing Ugandan kob, among many other creations. ....
