La Soufriere spewed forth her wrath after remaining dormant for 42 years. Immediately, members of the Barbados Coast Guard from two offshore patrol vessels, the HMBS Leonard C. Banfield and the HMBS Rudyard Lewis, sprang into action as part of the Regional Security Systems Humanitarian Relief, and made a voyage that delivered seven tonnes of supplies to St Vincent and the Grenadines. ....

Category One: Primary contacts – Royal Barbados Police Force personnel; wardens and inmates at Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds; Barbados Defence Force personnel; Barbados Fire service personnel; all medical personnel; border security – immigration officers; customs officers; Barbados Port Inc. officers; Grantley Adams International Airport Inc. officers (inclusive of security); patients awaiting tests for medical treatment; patients in elder care facilities. Results for people in this category are expected within 24 hours. The Ministry of Health has designated the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory’s Testing Facility and the Branford Taitt Polyclinic, Black Rock, St Michael as the testing centres for Category One. ....
A 33-year-old male narrowly escaped a fatal accident at the top of Oistins Hill this morning. According to Police Public Relations Officer,Sergeant Michael Blackman, the 33-year-old male driver lost control of his vehicle and collided into a wall, receiving multiple injuries. Around 7:20 am lawmen received a report of the collision which occurred at the top of Oistins Hill near Cane Vale Christ Church. The driver, who has yet to be identified, was extracted from the motor car using the Jaws of Life by the personnel from the Barbados Fire Service. He was then transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention. ....
