With a national title up for grabs, NCAA lacrosse fans from all over the region have come to East Hartford this weekend. While Connecticut may not have a team in the tournament, the state could still be a winner.
Inside Rentschler Field Saturday, North Carolina, Duke, Maryland and Virginia battled for a berth in Monday’s NCAA Men’s National title game.

Foreign exchange students eager to return to Georgia next school year
Leaders decided to close Agatha s Taste of Mystery after losing guests during the pandemic.
ROME, Ga. - With many of Georgia’s schools putting a halt to their foreign exchange programs due to the pandemic, many international students’ dreams were put on hold.
However, with an end of the pandemic appearing to be in sight, they are planning a big return come September. An organization that helps the high schoolers come here said it is looking for families who want to host the students.
We have so many students this year that we are trying to place who especially wants to come to this area of Atlanta, said Renee Stanton, a community representative for the non-profit organization Ayusa. It’s so exciting. ....

Lamont says restrictions could be eased by mid-March

Gov. Ned Lamont told the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commence on Friday that he anticipates relaxing coronavirus-related restrictions in mid-March if encouraging COVID-19 trends continue.
This was the most definitive statement from Lamont on the timing of the next reopening phase since he ordered a partial roll back in November amid a second coronavirus outbreak.
Specifically, the governor said he anticipates raising the attendance limits for indoor and outdoor events at commercial venues in a month, provided the viral outbreak does not take a turn for the worse again. He also indicated that other reopening rules could be loosened up at that time. ....
