When and why did you take up photography?
Took it up about 10 years ago. I had always loved taking photographs but work, time, money and single parenthood put my passion on hold. But a secret Christmas present from my husband changed all that! ....

Pontypool RFC: New update on Pontypool Park redevelopment

A FINAL update has been given on the redevelopment of Pontypool Park.
Pontypool RFC s chief executive officer Ben Jeffreys says the work, which began in January, is around 95 per cent complete.
The plans to renovate the newly-named Ray Prosser Stand at Pontypool Park have been in the works since the club’s long-term future at the ground was secured in December 2019.
The renovated grandstand will include new seating, side screens, a digital scoreboard and new player dugouts, as well as improvements to the outside and roof of the stand and drainage.
It will also include signage paying tribute to Ray Prosser, as well as a plaque in memory of club volunteer and supporter Pat Shephard on the steps the players climb making their way on to the pitch. ....

NOSTALGIA: The relocation of Pontypool's Town Forge

IN THE early nineteenth century, Molly Hanbury Leigh of Pontypool House introduced some regeneration and landscaping of Pontypool Park, including the building of the Shell Grotto, Rustic Arbour, picnic features along the brook, kitchen gardens and palm houses, a new stable block (now the museum) and other features - as was the garden fashion of the day.
As part of the landscaping, it was decided that the forge in the park would have to be removed to another site and so it was closed down in the park (now the site of Pontypool RFC) and moved across the river to the town behind Osborne Road (the area now the site of Riverside car park and adjacent housing) – utilising the water from the Afon Lwyd, like its sister Osborne Forge further up river at Pon ....
