Padra public health centre VADODARA: A history-sheeter fled from the public health centre in Padra where he was admitted after testing positive on May 17. Ashok Bishnoi, who was brought to Vadodara on transfer warrant from Surat jail, escaped from the window on the first floor by making a rope from a piece of cloth. He was arrested in a prohibition case by the local crime branch (LCB) rural recently. A native of Rajasthan, Bishnoi used to stay at Kalali-Bil Road in the city. Bishnoi and co-accused OmPrakash Bishnoi were brought to Vadodara on transfer warrant on May 12. After their Covid tests turned out to be negative, the cops arrested them and got their remand till May 17. After the remand was over, they underwent tests again during which Bishnoi tested positive. ....

The cops recovered 32 motorbikes from the gang that had been committing the crimes in Vadodara over the last many months. According to the police, the gang used to steal the vehicles and sell them off to earn some quick money. The accused have been identified as Jiluba Chavda, Sohail Malek and Gajendra Chavda; all residents of Khambat in Anand. “We had received information that one of the gang members was planning to sell a stolen motorbike following which our team picked the accused,” said the police. ....
Duo was rescued from Tarsali-Jambua bypass and rushed to hospital VADODARA: Barodians experienced monsoon in the middle of the hot month of May as rains lashed the city on Tuesday morning. Accompanied by strong winds, the heavy showers left some areas including the Sayajigunj underpass waterlogged. Weather officials said that the city received 37 mm of rains from 6 am to 6 pm and more showers are expected late in the evening. The strong winds uprooted about 50 trees in Sayajigunj, Alkapuri, Chhani, old city, Vadi Wadi and many other areas apart from five hoardings that came crashing down. A father-son duo was injured when a signboard fell on them on Tarsali-Jambua bypass on Tuesday morning. Hitesh Parmar and Ganesh Parmar were riding on their motorbike when hoarding fell on them.
