Insecurity: Bagudu embarks on peace tour of Fulani communities On By Dirisu Yakubu As part of efforts to sustain the peace and security of lives and property, the Kebbi state governor, Atiku Bagugu has engaged top clerics to preach a message of love and togetherness among Fulani communities in the state. The sensitization campaign which was flagged off at a ceremony in Illo town, Bagudo Local Government Area of the state was led by Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Garba Rabiu Kamba. The sessions according to the Committee Chairman, Abdullahi Imam Shema, is aimed at promoting behavioural and attitudinal change among Fulani communities on the growing herders- farmer clashes, kidnapping, cattle rustling amongst other sundry crimes in the state. ....
Vanguard News Abia Govt begs teachers to call off strike On By Ugochukwu Alaribe – Umuahia Abia state government has urged teachers in the state to resume classes, by March 1, 2020, saying that it had paid one million Naira between December 2020 and January 2021, to settle arrears of salaries, owed teachers in the state Teachers in the state had gone on an indefinite strike to press home the demand for the payment of arrears of salaries owed them. Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, who disclosed this in a statement, explained that the government is committed to the payment of the outstanding arrears of salaries and urged the teachers to reciprocate the gesture by resuming duties on March 1. ....

Assenting into law yesterday, anybody found guilty of kidnapping will face the death penalty while rapists will bag life imprisonment. According to a press statement signed by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hajiya Rahmatu Adamu Gulma said that this has come into effect immediately with the assent into law by Governor Bagudu. x The statement indicated that Governor Bagudu also assented into law, the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2021; the Justice Law 2021; the Model Penal Code Law 2021 and a law to repeal and to re-enact law No. 3 of 2002 and the establishment of Kebbi State College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin Kebbi, 2021. ....
