KANO State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said about four million people have so far registered as members of the All Progressives Congress in the ongoing membership registration /re-validation exercise in the State.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar, in Kano on Monday. He quoted the governor as saying this during the Sixth APC Stakeholders meeting, in Kano.
The statement quoted Ganduje, as saying, “The registration of members has hit between three and four million members, as the state has already exhausted all the registration slips, issued to the state and is expecting more from the APC headquarters.” ....

DELTA State candidate of the All Progressives Congress, in the March 2019 gubernatorial election, Chief Great Ogboru, has said the ongoing membership registration/ revalidation exercise will put the party in a position to reassess its reward system.
He spoke to party supporters soon after receiving members of the Abiodun Aluko-led APC registration team, in his country home, Abraka community, Ethiope East Local Government Area, on Thursday.
Ogboru said, “I know as a party, we have not been too fair to ourselves especially in the reward system, and that is why the leadership of the party has decided to embark on this exercise.  And it is on the strength of that commitment that am revalidating my membership. ....

MEMBERS of the House of Representatives on Wednesday blamed the delay in the amendment of the Electoral Act on the ongoing nationwide registration/revalidation exercise by the All Progressives Congress.
The House said it would consider and pass the report on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2020, when its members, who are in their constituencies to campaign for APC membership, return.
Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Benjamin Kalu, who addressed journalists after the plenary, noted that the electoral bill is one of the priority legislations of the parliament. ....

APC extends membership registration till March 31

THE Caretaker/ Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress, has extended the ongoing nationwide membership registration/revalidation exercise until March 31, 2021.
The first phase of the exercise was earlier scheduled to end on Tuesday, February 23rd.
This was contained in a statement titled, “Extension of the nationwide membership registration, revalidation and register update exercise,” signed by the party’s National Secretary, Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, in Abuja, on Sunday.
It read in part, “In response to the demands across the states for an extension to allow accommodation of all prospective members, the Party has therefore extended the nationwide membership registration exercise by a period of three (3) weeks. This extension will shift the end of the exercise to Wednesday 31st March, 2021. ....
