NEW ULM A 20-year-old homeless woman accused of biting an officer in the arm and kicking a deputy in the groin faces three charges filed in Brown County District Court.
Charges filed April 7 against Bailey R. Skelley include felony fourth-degree assault of a peace officer-demonstrable bodily harm, gross misdemeanor fourth-degree assault and misdemeanor obstructing the legal process.
A warrant was issued and an order to extend the 36-hour rule was approved in court April 7 as Skelley remains in detox and will not be fit for release from the medical facility within 36 hours of arrest.
According to court documents, Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 5:12p.m. April 5 to a suspicious white vehicle on the side of the road at the intersection of 145th Avenue and 215th Street, Cottonwood Township, just south of New Ulm. ....

• Daniel D. Vanderlouw, 48, 2526 S. Bridge St., New Ulm, was charged with felony domestic assault, gross misdemeanor domestic assault-subsequent violation, misdemeanor domestic assault disorderly conduct April 5.
According to court documents, New Ulm Police were dispatched to 1513 N. Payne at 2:50 p.m. April 4 regarding an assault between Vanderlouw and a family member. At the scene, the alleged victim said Vanderlouw was “smarting off to my mom and I told him to knock of off, then got up in his face and punched him in the face.” Police noticed several cuts around the left eye of the alleged victim. ....

SPRINGFIELD A 36-year-old Springfield man is accused of threatening and head-butting an officer, and kicking a squad car multiple times on March 29, in charges in Brown County District Court.
Seven charges were filed against Steven L. Dingman, 10 W. Maple St., Springfield on March 31. They include felony first-degree damage to property, felony threats of violence, gross misdemeanor harassment, fourth-degree assault, obstruct legal process, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and a petty misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dingman, who is in custody at the Brown County Jail, was granted a public defender. A bail hearing was set for 11:30 a.m. April 1. ....

COURTLAND An early morning March 10 traffic stop in Courtland by Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office deputies led to multiple drug and theft charges against two men and a woman.
Deja D. Padilla, 18, Montevideo, was charged with felony fifth-degree drug possession-not small amount of marijuana and felony possession of burglary or theft tools on March 11 in Brown County District Court. An initial court appearance was set for 8:30 a.m. March 23.
McKenzie M. Notch, 26, Granite Falls, was charged with felony second-degree drug sale 10 grams or more, a narcotic other than heroin within 90 days, third-degree drug possession 10 grams or more, fourth-degree drug sale and felony possession of burglary or theft tools. Bail was set at $40,000 without conditions, $15,000 with conditions in Nicollet County Court March 12. ....
