Provost Amanda M. Thomas, Ph.D., to serve as Loyola's interim president - Newsroom

After the Rev. Brian F. Linnane, S.J., retires from the presidency of Loyola University Maryland on June 30, 2021, Amanda M. Thomas, Ph.D., will serve as the interim president until the next president assumes the role.
The Board of Trustees announced Thomas’ appointment today after their meeting earlier this week. The Board expects to complete Loyola’s presidential search and name a new president early this fall.
“The Board has full confidence that Dr. Thomas will provide the guidance Loyola needs at this moment in history and serve as a bridge between the two administrations,” said James Forbes, ’80, chair, Board of Trustees. “This is an opportune time for Loyola University Maryland, and the trustees and I have great optimism and enthusiasm for all that the months and years ahead will bring.” ....

Norwalk, CT – Norwalk Public Library is hosting its second One Book One Community discussion via Zoom on Monday, May 10, 2021, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Marcelo Hernandez Castillo’s “Children of the Land” as the topic of conversation.
Lucia Rilling, Nowalk’s First Lady; Edwin Camacho, Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET) Chair, Dr. Alexandra Estrella, Norwalk Public Schools Superintendent; Diana Carpio, Norwalk Board of Education Vice Chair; James Martinez, Norwalk Public Schools Director of School Counseling; and Eloisa Melendez, Democratic Town Committee Chair will lead the discussion.

Johnson named Prairie View President/CEO
Prairie View recently announced Marcy Johnson. EdS. LCPC, as its next President and Chief Executive Officer. She will officially join the Prairie View staff May 10.
“We look forward to welcoming Marcy to Prairie View and supporting her in helping to fulfill our important mission,” said John Waltner, Prairie View Board of Directors chairperson.
A native of Medicine Lodge, Johnson has a worked in the behavioral health field for over 17 years as a direct service clinician, mid-level manager and executive. She most recently served as Vice President of Treatment Services (Chief Clinical Officer) at Mirror, Inc., where she was responsible for clinical and budgetary performance for 18 locations throughout the state of Kansas. During her time at Mirror, Inc., employee turnover decreased, telehealth services were implemented and services expanded, including the opening of three new facilities. ....
