More than 15 jobs are up for grabs at Domino s at Ballina, with the franchise owner calling for anyone to have a go.
Mitchell Amor said the fast-food outlet offered a place for people to learn new skills, make friends and earn some extra dough .
He also said he was humbled to be able to offer positions.

More than $2.3 million for councils to manage their coastlines
The NSW Government today announced more than $2.3 million in coastal funding has been awarded to councils through the 2020-2021 Coastal and Estuary Grants Program’s planning stream which will provide assistance to councils in managing their coastlines.
Minister for Local Government Shelley Hancock congratulated the councils of Ballina Shire, Bellingen Shire, Byron Shire, City of Canterbury-Bankstown, Fairfield City, Kiama Municipal, Shoalhaven City and Wollongong City in partnership with Shellharbour City on their successful applications for funding.
“This funding will ensure councils are supported as they manage the health of our unique coasts and estuaries while improving the resilience of coastal communities through well-planned action,” Mrs Hancock said. ....

Confirmed: Decision made on COVID restrictions


The announcement was confirmed by Dr Jeremy McAnulty in NSW Health’s daily update.
“Temporary restrictions for Tweed Shire Council, Ballina Shire Council, Byron Shire Council and Lismore City Council will be lifted at 11.59pm tonight (Monday),” he said.
“However, the ending of these temporary restrictions has no impact on the self-isolation requirements for a large number of people in these areas who are close contacts.
“These people must continue to isolate for the full 14 days from their date of exposure, and get tested again at the end of this period.”
Mask-wearing will no longer be mandatory, but the health expert said NSW Health “strongly recommends” people in the Northern Rivers area wear a mask in public indoor settings. ....

Almost half of car breakdowns caused by one single issue

NRMA data revealed that patrols attended more than 40,000 breakdowns across the Northern Rivers in 2020, with battery problems continue to dominate breakdowns across NSW.
Of 40,634 breakdowns attended by NRMA patrols in the last 12 months, 17,873 or 43 per cent were related to battery failure, according to new data released by the NRMA.
3373 battery-related breakdowns were reported in Ballina Shire, 4452 in Byron Shire, 407 in Kyogle, 2561 in Lismore LGA, 957 in Richmond Valley and 6123 in the Tweed.
This corresponds to state-level data, where analysis of 848,650 breakdowns from March 2020 to February 2021 found that batteries dominated the reasons for calling an NRMA patrol on the side of the road across NSW, with 46 per cent of the calls statewide. ....
