EDWARDSVILLE The expansion of the Southwestern Enterprise Zone, settlement of several longstanding legal issues, and appointments delayed after Madison County Board members demanded a new county administrator are all set to be discussed and possibly acted on at Wednesday’s board meeting.
The meeting will be held in person at 5 p.m. in the County Board Room.
One of the items on the agenda is the approval of an ordinance expanding the Southwestern Enterprise Zone to include additional parts of Granite City and Venice.

EDWARDSVILLE A series of committee meetings and an executive session at Wednesday’s Madison County Board meeting are planned to deal with pending litigation, including a possible vote on settlement.
Possible settlements could include lawsuits involving former Community Development Director Kristen Poshard or the Veteran’s Assistance Commission.
An amendment to the Madison County Board’s Agenda Monday included an executive session “for the purpose of discussing pending or imminent litigation” to be followed by an open session “for the purpose of approving settlement of pending litigation” discussed in the executive session.
