Heartbroken 9-Year-Old Sells Cookies to Fund Father’s Funeral After Tragic Car Accident In the wake of her father’s death in a fatal car accident, a Kentucky fourth-grader is using their shared love of baking to help raise funds for the funeral. To Kaylei Miller, aged 9, her father was “everything.” Kaylei and her mother, Whitney Barton, of Fairdale in Louisville, Kentucky, lost doting dad Jason Barton in a car accident on Jan. 3. Good Vibes Burgers and Brews, 1329 E. Broadway, opens January 9 in Pearland. The new tiki joint and burger restaurant takes over the spacer formerly occupied by the original King s Biergarten, a move that surprised and disappointed many of the loyal patrons of Hans Sitter s Bavarian bar and restaurant, as we reported here in the Houston Press. While some Pearland residents may be slow to warm up to the new concept, owner and executive chef Eric Nelson is eager to welcome the community to his exciting venture. Nelson has previous experience working for the Ritz Carlton hotel group, Valencia Hotel Group, The RK Group and most recently as executive chef and managing partner at Number 13 in Galveston. ....
FAIRDALE, Kentucky A fourth grader is using her love of baking to help pay for her dad s funeral. Kentucky 9-year-old Kaylei Miller lost her father Sunday night in a car accident. According to a GoFundMe page set up for the family, the dad did not have life insurance and the family does not have funds for funeral expenses. That s when Miller decided to host a bake sale. I just wanted to raise money so we could have a funeral for my dad, Miller said. On Wednesday, she spent the day in the kitchen, with help from her family, baking tons of sweets. ....

Direct ordering will go live later this week. - Three of Berg Hospitality s concepts are joining the ghost kitchen trend. Beginning Monday, December 21, diners will be able to order B.B. Lemon, the Butcher Shop at B&B Butchers, and B.B. Italia from the Fair Food Co., a facility near the Galleria (5832 Fairdale Ln.), a representative tells CultureMap. Diners will have the option of ordering their food for delivery via major third-party apps or directly from Berg Hospitality s website. Third-party delivery will be restricted to three miles (or 15 minutes from the facility), while orders placed through the company s website have a 5-mile delivery radius.
