Coronavirus Surge: Just Comply With Safety Protocols - Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Advises


 
The Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has brushed off the perception that taking hibiscus tea (sobolo) or ginger juice can boost one’s immune system against the novel coronavirus.
The surest way to fight the virus is complying with the safety protocols given by the government and the Ghana Health Service.
A section of Ghanaians believes that since the virus cannot defeat a strong immune system, they have resorted to the high consumption of hibiscus tea (sobolo) and other ginger juice hoping to fight the pandemic without following the necessary safety precautions.

Hello FM s King Edward De Slave on the Kokrokoo show, the Ofoase-Ayirebi legislature said, looking at the fast pace the virus is spreading on daily basis, it shows that majority of Ghanaians do not comply with the mask-wearing directive and so if this should continue government will be left with no option than to announce another lockdown. ....

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WVIR) - Monday night, Waynesboro City Council reinstated the city’s ability to cut off utilities for residents who haven’t paid their bills, but only as a last resort.
The vote was unanimous, but the City insists it wants to work with its citizens who’ve experienced hardship due to the pandemic.
In November, Governor Northam enacted a bill to temporarily postpone utility disconnections for residents during the COVID-19 emergency. ....

Biden and the new Congress must protect Americans from utility shutoffs


Our organizations just joined more than 630 groups across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., to urge the incoming Biden administration to do just that.  
Second, the new Democratic-led Congress should pass the nationwide moratorium in a desperately needed reprise of the COVID-19 relief bill.
Last year, the House of Representatives passed the HEROES Act, which included the utilities shutoff moratorium pioneered by Rep. Rashida Tlaib
The 117th Congress can finally pass national protections against utility shutoffs, as demanded by a coalition of more than 830 organizations and 113 members of Congress.  
As of January, less than half of the country was protected from water shutoffs by a state or local moratorium. Hundreds of thousands of people across America are at risk because they’ve fallen behind on water bills.  ....
